Stopwatch

Time anything to a tenth of a second and record laps, with the fastest and slowest marked.

Elapsed time

00:00.0

Runs in your browser — nothing you enter is sent to a server.

How the Stopwatch works

Select Start stopwatch to begin, Lap to record a split while it runs, and Stop to pause. Reset clears the time and laps. Times are shown to a tenth of a second, and hours appear once you pass 59:59.9.

Each lap shows its own time and the total when it was recorded. With two or more laps the fastest and slowest are marked, and Copy laps copies them as tab-separated text that pastes straight into a spreadsheet. The time comes from your device's clock, so it stays accurate in a background tab.

Examples

Running intervals

Laps recorded at totals of 1:02.0 and 2:05.5 give lap times of 01:02.0 and 01:03.5 — the first lap is marked fastest and the second slowest.

Timing a presentation

Press Lap at the end of each section to see how long each one took, then copy the laps to compare with your next rehearsal.

Frequently asked questions

How accurate is the stopwatch?

It reads your device clock each time the display updates, so the total is accurate to a few milliseconds. The display shows tenths of a second; your reaction time when pressing the button matters more than the clock.

What's the difference between lap time and total?

Lap time is how long that lap took on its own; total is the time on the stopwatch when you pressed Lap.

Are my laps saved?

No. They stay in this page only and are cleared when you reset or reload. Use Copy laps to keep them.
