How the Open Graph Generator works
When someone shares a link on Facebook, LinkedIn, X, Slack, WhatsApp or iMessage, the app reads the page's Open Graph tags to build the preview card: title, description and image. Fill in the fields and copy the tags into the page's <head>.
X reads the Open Graph title, description and image too, so only the card type and your username need X-specific tags. The page and image URLs must be full addresses starting with https://; relative paths don't work in previews.

1200 × 630 pixels (about 1.91:1) displays well as a large card everywhere. Keep important text away from the edges, which some apps crop.
Frequently asked questions
Why doesn't my new image show when I share the link?
Apps cache previews. Use the platform's own debugging tool (for example Facebook's Sharing Debugger or LinkedIn's Post Inspector) to fetch the page again.
Do Open Graph tags help SEO?
Not directly for rankings, but a good preview gets more clicks when your pages are shared, which brings visitors.
