How the Line Break Tool works
Remove joins lines into flowing text — useful for text copied from a PDF or an email, where every line ends with a break. With Keep paragraphs on, blank lines between paragraphs stay. A word split with a hyphen at the end of a line ("exam-", "ple") is joined back together.
Wrap at a width does the opposite: it breaks text into lines of at most the number of characters you choose, between words. A single word longer than a whole line is split.

"the quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog" becomes five lines: "the quick", "brown fox", "jumps over", "the lazy" and "dog".
Frequently asked questions
Why does text copied from a PDF have breaks everywhere?
PDFs store each printed line separately, so copying keeps a break at the end of every line. Joining the lines restores normal paragraphs.
Does it change spaces inside lines?
No. To collapse double spaces or tidy other whitespace, use the Whitespace Cleaner afterwards.
