How the Find and Replace works
Paste your text, type what to find and what to put instead. The result updates as you type and shows how many replacements were made. By default the search ignores case and matches anywhere; tick Whole words only so “cat” doesn't change “catalog”.
Tick Regular expression for patterns: \d+ for numbers, \s+ for runs of spaces, and $1, $2 in the replacement to reuse captured groups. Without it, every character is matched literally.

This works for accented and non-Latin letters too.

How do I delete every match?
Leave Replace with empty.
How do I insert a dollar sign in a regex replacement?
Write $$. For example, replacing \d+ with $$$& turns 5 into $5.
Can I undo a replacement?
Your original text stays in the input box until you choose Use result as input, so you can adjust and try again.
